FORT ASPEREN

As part of an exhibition on the island of Fort Asperen, Atelier René Knip was commissioned to create a fence design. For this, he created a hand-drawn, twig-like structure that reacted to the architectural environment of the fort. The text of the fence replicated a love letter to a past partner.

The name of the artwork is “FENCELESS”, which not only, was an antonym to the entire exhibition but also reflected the feeling of ‘fencelessness’ conveyed in the letter.
